Greetings Brethren,
     Many thanks to our building and grounds committee for their efforts to give our lodge a well overdue facelift. The county has all but to give us a go ahead. Look forward to seeing construction beginning immediately afterwards.
     Bethel #39 IOJD has a new honor queen. Ms. Haley Mitchell (Bro. Van Mitchell’s daughter and Bro. Goodman Mitchell’s granddaughter) was installed 25 June at the lodge. The ceremony was well attended by the Brethren. Congratulations to all the newly installed ladies and their families. You make us proud.
     Time is closing in our golf tournament. August 25th is just around the corner. I encourage all Brethren to get involved and enjoy a great day of fellowship and fun. We still need hole sponsors and contributors. Let any of the golf committee know if you have any leads. This event is one the Lodge's largest fundraisers and deserves every Brother's participation.
     We’ve received multiple scholarship applications for our committee to review and make recommendations. I plan to award the recipients their recognition at the Golf Tournament.
Our Lodge has a large number of Brethren and their families with sicknesses, recent surgeries and distress. Prayers work. Keep them in your prayers and make yourselves available to assist when needed. Strength, support and unity are vital elements that enable us endure such situations.

Important Information
  • A proclamation from the Grand Master directs the observance of Masonic recognition day on the first day of each month by wearing Masonic apparel such as hats, shirts, jackets, belts, etc. Further, each Mason is encouraged to hold every day as Masonic Recognition Day by studying a portion of the Methodical Digest, Presentation Volume, other Masonic books or pamphlets, and the Volume of Sacred Law, as well as hold discussions with well-informed Brethren that his actions may conform to the most favorable kinds of public recognition.
  • Please check your dues card. If it does not say "2010", please submit your dues.
  • Bro Chris Dearhart is taking orders for longsleeve polo shirts with the Lodge name and the Square & compasses. The Shirts are $25.00 each and are available in different colors. Contact Bro. Dearhart, chrisdearhart@yahoo.com 
  • The Grand Lodge dues increase was passed and will go into effect 2012. The dues 2011 for Yorktown Lodge are $76.00. Notices are in the mail.
  • The WM has requested the members to make contact with any shut in members or Lodge widows you know, and report their condition and any needs to the Widows and Sick Comm. Chairman. Wor Steve Swicegood.
